Jésus n'est pas mort pour augmenter notre estime de soi. Au contraire, Jésus est mort pour apporter la gloire au Père en rachetant les gens de la malédiction du péché. Bien sûr, la croix a de nombreux avantages, l'un étant que nous ne sommes plus chassés de la présence de Dieu et que nous avons une intimité avec le Saint. Mais la croix s'occupe de notre problème de péché, de notre besoin spirituel.

Jesus did not die to increase our self-esteem. Rather, Jesus died to bring glory to the Father by redeeming people from the curse of sin. Of course, the cross has many benefits, one being that we are no longer cast out of the presence of God and we have intimacy with the Holy One. But the cross deals with our sin problem, our spiritual need.
