"Oui !" a-t-il répondu avec assurance et conviction.
Je l'ai sondé davantage. "Croyez-vous que la Bible est vraie ?" "Oui !" a encore sonné la réponse.
Puis j'ai demandé : "Est-elle historiquement exacte et fiable ?" "Bien sûr !" a-t-il répondu avec confiance.
Puis j'ai baissé la voix et lui ai demandé : "Pourquoi ?"
Il m'a regardé, a haussé les épaules et a dit :"C'est une question difficile."

Approaching one young man, I held up my Bible and asked, “Do you believe the Bible is the Word of God?’’
“Yes!” he said with confidence and conviction.
I probed him further. “Do you believe the Bible is true?” “Yes!” rang the answer again.
Then I asked, “Is it historically accurate and reliable?” “Of course!” he replied with confidence.
Then I lowered my voice and asked him, “Why?”
He looked back at me, shrugged his shoulders, and said,“That’s a tough one.”
