Certaines tentations doivent être prises à la gorge comme David a tué le lion ; d'autres doivent être étouffées comme David a serré l'ours dans ses bras jusqu'à la mort. Il y en a que vous feriez mieux de garder pour vous et de ne pas leur donner d'air. Enfermez-les comme un scorpion dans une bouteille. Les scorpions ainsi enfermés meurent rapidement, mais si on leur permet de sortir pour ramper, puis de les remettre dans la bouteille et de la reboucher, ils vivront longtemps et vous donneront du fil à retordre. Gardez le bouchon sur vos tentations, et elles mourront d'elles-mêmes.
