La souffrance en tant que chrétien est un signe que Dieu est puissamment à l'œuvre dans nos vies. L'attente de notre rédemption finale, la souffrance pour avoir fait le bien et la persécution pour notre foi sont autant de preuves que Dieu a commencé la bonne œuvre de nous rendre semblables au Christ. Notre souffrance devient donc un grand encouragement pour notre foi, puisque ceux qui participent aux souffrances du Christ savent qu'ils participeront aussi à sa résurrection (Matthieu 5:11-12 ; Romains 8:17 ; Philippiens 3:10).

Suffering as a Christian is a sign that God is powerfully at work in our lives. Longing for our final redemption, suffering for doing right, and being persecuted for our faith are all evidence that God has begun the good work of making us like Christ. Our suffering consequently becomes a great encouragement to our faith, since those who share in Christ’s sufferings know that they will also share in his resurrection (Matthew 5:11-12; Rom. 8:17; Phil. 3:10).
