Tout le monde peut adorer le Père Noël. Mais s'accrocher à Dieu au milieu d'une souffrance intense, comme le Christ l'a fait sur la croix, magnifie la valeur de Dieu comme celui qui nous soutient. Le but de Dieu dans la souffrance est donc de nous apprendre que dans la vie et dans la mort, comme dans toute l'éternité, il est lui-même tout ce dont nous avons besoin en définitive.

Anybody can worship Santa Claus. But hanging in there with God in the midst of intense suffering, as Christ hung on the cross, magnifies the worth of God as the one who sustains us. God’s goal in suffering, therefore, is to teach us that in life and in death, as in all eternity, He Himself is all we ultimately need.
