La prédication n'est pas seulement un discours moralement édifiant. Ce n'est pas non plus un simple encouragement pour inciter les auditeurs à un jour ou deux de service pénitentiel. C'est prendre la domination de Dieu et la placer au plus profond de l'âme de ceux qu'il sert. C'est visser la vérité dans l'esprit des hommes de manière à passionner le cœur avec plus de Jésus-Christ. La prédication est une infection spirituelle qui doit imprégner l'auditeur de la vie de Dieu et du Christ.

Preaching is not just morally edifying speech. It is not simply a pep-rally to excite the listeners to a day or two of penitential service. It is taking the dominion of God and placing it within the deepest reaches of the soul of those He is ministering to. It is screwing truth into men’s minds in such a way as to enthrall the heart with more of Jesus Christ. Preaching is a spiritual infection which ought to impregnate the hearer with the life of God and Christ.
