Les prophéties de l'Ancien Testament se sont remarquablement réalisées. Ses doctrines sont profondes et son éthique noble. Près de deux mille ans après le Christ, sa popularité ne cesse de croître. Elle a apporté le pardon aux coupables, la liberté aux opprimés, l'orientation aux perplexes, la consolation aux mourants et l'espoir aux personnes en deuil. Tous ceux qui le lisent avec un esprit ouvert et un esprit humble témoignent de son pouvoir de déranger et de réconforter.

Its Old Testament prophecies were remarkably fulfilled. Its doctrines are profound and its ethics noble. Nearly two thousand years after Christ its popularity continues to increase. It has brought forgiveness to the guilty, freedom to the oppressed, guidance to the perplexed, consolation to the dying, and hope to the bereaved. Everyone who reads it with an open mind and a humble spirit testifies to its power to disturb and to comfort.
