Je suis engagé avec profit dans la lecture de la Bible. Prenez tout ce que vous pouvez de ce Livre par la raison et le reste par la foi, et vous vivrez et mourrez en homme meilleur. C'est le meilleur livre que Dieu ait donné à l'homme. Tout le bien que le Sauveur a donné au monde a été communiqué par ce livre. Sans lui, nous ne pourrions pas distinguer le bien du mal. Tout ce qui est souhaitable pour le bien-être de l'homme, ici et dans l'avenir, y est dépeint.

I am profitably engaged in reading the Bible. Take all of this Book that you can by reason and the balance by faith, and you will live and die a better man. It is the best Book which God has given to man. All the good Savior gave to the world was communicated through this book. But for it we could not know right from wrong. All things desirable for man’s welfare, here and hereafter, are to be found portrayed in it.
