Prêcher la vérité sans amour est comme donner un baiser à quelqu'un quand on a mauvaise haleine. Peu importe la qualité du baiser, personne ne reviendra pour un deuxième. C'est ce qui se passe lorsque, dans la colère ou le dégoût, nous disons aux perdus à quel point ils sont terribles et dépravés. Même si tout cela est vrai, notre approche négative bloque et déforme le message central de la Bible, à savoir que Dieu a envoyé son Fils non pas pour condamner le monde, mais pour le sauver (voir Jean 3:17).

Preaching the truth without love is like giving someone a kiss when you have bad breath. No matter how good the kiss, no one will come back for a second one. This is what happens when, in anger or disgust, we tell the lost how terrible and depraved they are. Even though it all may be true, our negative approach blocks and distorts the central message of the Bible—that God sent His Son not to condemn the world, but to save it (see John 3:17).
