Ce que j'ai commencé à voir, c'est que la Bible n'est pas essentiellement, comme je l'avais toujours plus ou moins supposé, un livre de principes éthiques, d'exhortations morales, de récits édifiants sur des personnes exemplaires, de pensées édifiantes - en fait, pas vraiment un livre religieux du tout... Je l'ai plutôt vue comme un grand compendium d'écrits, dont le but sous-jacent et unifiant est de montrer comment Dieu travaille à travers les Jacobs et les Jabboks de l'histoire pour se faire connaître au monde et ramener le monde à lui.
