La vie dépend du contact avec la vie. Elle ne peut pas naître d'elle-même. Elle ne peut pas se développer à partir de ce qui n'est pas la Vie. Il n'y a pas de génération spontanée en religion, pas plus que dans la Nature. Le Christ est la source de la vie dans le monde spirituel ; celui qui a le Fils a la vie, et celui qui n'a pas le Fils, quoi qu'il ait d'autre, n'a pas la vie.

Life depends upon contact with Life. It cannot spring up out of itself. It cannot develop out of anything that is not Life. There is no Spontaneous Generation in religion any more than in Nature. Christ is the source of Life in the Spiritual World; and he that hath the Son hath Life, and he that hath not the Son, whatever else he may have, hath not Life.
