Nous ne sommes pas sauvés "par" notre foi, mais "par" notre foi (Eph. 2:8). La foi n'est aussi valable que l'objet dans lequel j'ai choisi de l'investir. Je peux avoir une grande foi dans les étoiles, dans un homme puissant ou dans mes croyances personnelles, mais si l'objet donné est incapable de réaliser mon salut, la foi est inutile. La foi est la chaîne de connexion, la réponse humaine qui me relie à l'œuvre salvatrice du Christ.

We are not saved “by” our faith, but “through” our faith (Eph. 2:8). Faith is only as valid as the object in which I chose to invest it. I can have great faith in the stars or a powerful man or in my personal beliefs, but if the given object is unable to achieve my salvation, the faith is useless. Faith is the connecting chain, the human response that links me to the saving work of Christ.
