Bien que le péché ne règne plus sur nous, nous sommes toujours naturellement pécheurs. Dieu nous considère comme justes et nous crédite de la réputation sans tache du Christ, mais nous continuons à pécher. En fait, la lutte contre le péché qui nous habite commence dès notre conversion. Par la justification, nous sommes déclarés justes, et c'est à ce moment-là que commence notre sanctification - notre croissance dans la sainteté.

Although sin no longer rules us, we still are naturally sinful. God considers us righteous and credits us with the spotless record of Christ, but we still do sin. In fact, the battle with our indwelling sin starts at our conversion. Through justification we are declared righteous, and it is at this point that our sanctification – our growing in holiness – begins.
