Ne vous arrêtez pas à demander à l'auteur si Dieu a exaucé toutes ses prières. Il ne l'a pas fait. Dire "oui" à certaines d'entre elles aurait été synonyme de malédiction au lieu de bénédiction. Répondre à d'autres était, hélas ! une impossibilité spirituelle - il n'était pas digne des dons qu'il demandait. L'octroi de certains d'entre eux n'aurait fait que favoriser l'orgueil spirituel et la satisfaction de soi. Comme toutes ces choses semblent claires maintenant, à la lumière plus complète du Saint-Esprit de Dieu !

Do not stop to ask the writer if God has granted all his prayers. He has not. To have said “Yes” to some of them would have spelt curse instead of blessing. To have answered others was, alas! a spiritual impossibility – he was not worthy of the gifts he sought. The granting of some of them would but have fostered spiritual pride and self-satisfaction. How plain all these things seem now, in the fuller light of God’s Holy Spirit!
