La croix confirme tout ce que nous avons dit sur l'offense infinie du péché. Elle dit qu'aucun sacrifice fini ne peut expier le péché (Hébreux 10:4). Rien d'autre qu'un sacrifice d'une valeur infinie, Dieu lui-même, ne peut expier nos offenses. En outre, personne d'autre qu'un Être infini n'est capable de souffrir suffisamment pour expier des offenses infinies contre un Dieu infiniment saint.

The cross confirms all that we have said about the infinite offense of sin. It says that no finite sacrifice can atone for sin (Heb. 10:4). Nothing but a sacrifice of infinite value, God Himself, can atone for our offenses. In addition, no one but an infinite Being is capable of suffering sufficiently to atone for infinite offenses against an infinitely holy God.
