La sainteté de Dieu est au cœur même du besoin de discernement. Notre passion pour la sainteté de Dieu, notre désir de nous garder purs du péché, motiveront notre pratique du discernement. Plus notre compréhension de la sainteté de Dieu sera grande, plus nous comprendrons l'importance de discerner la vérité de l'erreur. Nous désirerons nous débarrasser de tout ce qui est mauvais afin de ne pas être souillés, ni corrompus par le péché.

God’s holiness lies at the very heart of the need for discernment. Our passion for God’s holiness, our desire to keep ourselves pure from sin, will motivate our practice of discernment. The greater our understanding of God’s holiness, the greater will be our understanding of the importance of discerning truth from error. We will desire to cast off all that is wrong so that we can be unsullied, unspoiled by sin.
