Le cœur de la tentation adamique était d'aspirer à l'égalité avec Dieu (Gen. 3:5). Adam a tenté de saisir l'égalité avec Dieu ; le Christ ne l'a pas fait. En revanche, le Christ a choisi la voie du dépouillement plutôt que celle de l'enrichissement personnel.

The heart of the Adamic temptation was to grasp for equality with God (Gen. 3:5). Adam attempted to seize equality with God; Christ did not. By contrast Christ chose the way of self-emptying rather than self-aggrandizement.
