Dieu ne commet pas le mal, mais il ordonne qu'il existe. Le prophète Isaïe a écrit : "Je forme la lumière et je crée les ténèbres, je fais le bien-être et je crée la calamité, je suis le Seigneur, qui fait toutes ces choses" (Ésaïe 45:7). Le mal existe par la permission de Dieu et par le choix préétabli de ceux qu'Il a créés. Sinon, nous nous retrouverions avec une puissance distincte qui cause le mal, auquel cas Dieu ne serait plus souverain. Cependant, le mal n'est pas un pépin dans le plan de Dieu, mais plutôt une partie intégrante de son plan !

God does not commit evil, but He ordains that it exists. The prophet Isaiah recorded, “I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord, who does all these things” (Isaiah 45:7). Evil exists by God’s permission and through the foreordained choice of those whom He created. Otherwise, we’d end up with a separate power that causes evil, in which case God would no longer be sovereign. However, evil is not a glitch in God’s plan but rather an integral piece of God’s plan!
