Notre Sauveur nous a demandé de prêcher l'Évangile à toute créature (Marc 16:15). Il n'a pas dit : "Ne le prêchez qu'aux élus", et bien que cela puisse sembler être la chose la plus logique à faire, puisqu'il ne s'est pas plu à marquer les élus au front ou à leur apposer une marque distinctive, ce serait une tâche impossible à accomplir pour nous. Lorsque nous prêchons l'Évangile à toute créature, l'Évangile fait sa propre division, et les brebis du Christ entendent sa voix et le suivent.

Our Savior has bidden us to preach the Gospel to every creature (Mk. 16:15). He has not said, “Preach it only to the elect,” and though that might seem to be the most logical thing for us to do, yet since He has not been pleased to stamp the elect in their foreheads or put any distinctive mark upon them, it would be an impossible task for us to perform. When we preach the Gospel to every creature, the Gospel makes its own division, and Christ’s sheep hear His voice, and follow Him.
