La prière, c'est la vie
G. Campbell Morgan
Prayer is life passionately wanting, wishing, desiring God’s triumph. Prayer is life striving and toiling everywhere and always for that ultimate victory.

Scott Hafemann, This We Believe, John Armstrong and John Woodbridge, ed. Zondervan, 2000, p. 86.
Sinners come to God knowing that although there is no reason in them that God should be merciful, God has every reason in Himself to show mercy (Isa. 43:25).

Le moi vs Dieu
John Hannah, To God be the Glory, Crossway, 2000, p. 28.
The Bible presupposes a love of self, a desire to experience pleasure and avoid pain, as inherent in the human makeup and as the ground of ethical imperatives. For example, loving ourselves is often used as a criterion in Scripture for the love of others (Matthew. 19:19; Ephesians 5:28). It is an assumed fact that we do love ourselves, and it is not evil to do so if it is done rightly… Thus Christianity, far from denigrating human worth, actually presupposes it in some of its fundamental teachings. Yet something has tragically blighted and twisted love of self into a gross perversion of God’s intent for His creatures. The fall of the human race into sin caused love of self to become mere selfishness. What was lost was a focus outside the self – that is, a love of God that gave it control and benevolence.
John Hannah, To God be the Glory, Crossway, 2000, p. 28.

HENRY VAN DYKE
LIVRES D'ACCOMPAGNEMENT, 1922
Born in the East and clothed in Oriental form and imagery, the Bible walks the ways of all the world with familiar feet and enters land after land to find its own everywhere. It has learned to speak in hundreds of languages to the heart of man. Children listen to its stories with wonder and delight, and wise men ponder them as parables of life. The wicked and the proud tremble at its warnings, but to the wounded and penitent it has a mother’s voice. It has woven itself into our dearest dreams; so that Love, Friendship, Sympathy, Devotion, Memory, Hope, put on the beautiful garments of its treasured speech. No man is poor or desolate who has this treasure for his own.

Le mot éternel
Scot McKnight, Eternal Consequences or Eternal Consciousness, Baker, 1991, p. 154.
Because aionios (“eternal”) modifies both punishment and life in Matthew 25:46, it stands to reason that the same quality and temporal connotations are in view. That is to say, however long the life extends is how long the punishment lasts; the durations are identical. It is grammatically unsuitable to drive a wedge between the two uses of the term eternal in Matthew 25:46, suggesting that one refers to endlessness (eternal) and the other to temporal limitation (aeonial)… Since it is clear to say that the eternal life is temporarily unlimited it follows that eternal punishment is also temporarily unlimited.
Scot McKnight, Eternal Consequences or Eternal Consciousness, Baker, 1991, p. 154.

John Piper, Desiring God, 1996, p. 153.
Love is the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22), and the Spirit is given in answer to prayer (Luke 11:13). Love is the outworking of faith (Galatians 5:6), and faith is sustained by prayer (Mark 9:24, Luke 22:32). Love is rooted in hope (Colossians 1:4-5), and hope is preserved by prayer (Ephesians 1:18). Love is guided and inspired by knowledge of the Word of God (Philippians 1:9; John 17:17), and prayer opens the eyes of the heart to the wonders of the Word (Psalms 119: 18). If love is the path of fullest joy, then let us pray for the power to love “that our joy might be full!”
John Piper, Desiring God, 1996, p. 153.

Michael Youssef
Unless we are firmly anchored in the Rock of Ages, unless we trust in the living God, unless we are vigilant in prayer and fellowship with God, the enemy will be able to vanquish our children.

Wesley L. Duewel
The more you praise God, the more you become God-conscious and absorbed in His greatness, wisdom, faithfulness, and love. Praise reminds you of all that God is able to do and of great things He has already done.

Bob LaForge, Contemplating the Almighty, 1984, p. 126.
To say that God is faithful or consistent is not to imply, however, that He is predictable. Much bitterness toward God results from a misconception of this. Too often we speculate and try to guess the actions of God and, therefore, develop expectations. Through our limited and often perverted reasoning, we determine the “best” for our lives and then consider God’s only reasonable response to be one of quick and complete fulfillment.
Bob LaForge, Contemplating the Almighty, 1984, p. 126.

John F. MacArthur Jr.
The truth is in Jesus and it leads to the fullness of truth about God, man, creation, history, sin, righteousness, grace, faith, salvation, life, death, purpose, meaning, relationships, heaven, hell, judgement, eternity, and everything else of ultimate consequence.

Richard A. Maton
Rees Howells was taught by the Holy Spirit that any person, government or international situation that hindered the spread of the gospel would become a legitimate target to be challenged and defeated through intercession. It was the Lord's will for the gospel to go to every person, and anything that got in the way of God's plan had to be confronted.
Richard A. Maton

Tim Keller, Making Sense of God : An Invitation to the Skeptical
“Why is freedom so important [today]? Why is that the absolute, unquestioned ‘good’—and who gets to define it as such? Are you not assuming a value-laden standard that you are using to critique all other approaches to life? Are you not, then, actually giving a universal answer to the Meaning question, namely, that the meaning of life is to have the freedom to determine your own meaning? Are you not, then, doing the very thing you say should not be done?”
Tim Keller, Making Sense of God: An Invitation to the Skeptical

L'enfer
L'enfer glorifie Dieu parce que :
1. Il montre qu'il tient sa parole.
Hell glorifies God because:
1. It shows that He keeps His Word.
2. It shows His infinite worth, lasting forever.
3. It demonstrates His power to subdue all who rebel against Him.
4. It shows how unspeakably merciful He is to those who trust Him.
5. It upholds the reality of love by visiting justice against those who reject God, who is love.
6. It vindicates all who suffered to hear or proclaim the truth of God's Word.
7. It shows the enormity of what Jesus accomplished when He died to save all who would trust Him from the hell they deserved. If there were no hell, there would be no need for the cross.
