L'image du Christ

Aucune image du Christ ne nous est plus chère que celle de la guérison illimitée de toute maladie du corps ou de l'âme. Dans sa bienheureuse indéfinition, elle transmet l'infinie possibilité de soulagement, quelle que soit la misère qui nous frappe, ou quel que soit le soin ou le chagrin qui nous oppresse. Il faut être aveugle, en effet, pour ne pas voir dans ce médecin le guérisseur divin, dans ce Christ la lumière du monde.

No picture of the Christ more dear to us, than this of the unlimited healing of whatever disease of body or soul. In its blessed indefiniteness it conveys the infinite potential of relief, whatever misery fall on us, or whatever care or sorrow oppress us. He must be blind, indeed, who sees not in this Physician the Divine Healer; in this Christ the Light of the World.
