La communication
Albert Mohler, The Conviction to Lead, Bethany House Publishers, 2012, p. 95.
Communication requires courage for the very simple reason that, if your convictions mean anything at all, someone will oppose you. If opposition to your ideas and beliefs offends you, do not attempt to lead. Every leader knows the experience of rejection and opposition. You must prepare for it, expect it, and deal with it when it happens.

Un choix délibéré de l'humanité
John Hannah, To God be the Glory, Crossway, 2000, p. 27.
Sin is mankind’s willful choice, in spite of the unceasing mercies and kindness of God, to refuse to honor Him by reflecting His character. God made us for that supreme purpose, but we determined to go the way of our own selfish preoccupations. Any action that does not reflect the character of the Creator in its motive and consequences is sin. It is an assault on God’s prerogative to spurn God’s glory and act in our own self-interests.
John Hannah, To God be the Glory, Crossway, 2000, p. 27.

Une responsabilité joyeuse
Curtis Thomas, Life in the Body of Christ, Founders Press, 2006, p. 91.
Nowhere in Scripture do we have the slightest hint that God’s people are to volunteer. Rather, the Scriptures indicate that the use of our gifts should be considered a joyful responsibility.

Nos ennemis spirituels
John MacArthur, The Book on Leadership, 2004, p. 140- 141.
Our enemies are demonic, but the warfare against them isn’t waged by commanding them, mapping their physical location, invoking magic words to subdue them, claiming authority over them, or any of the other common tactics some people usually refer to as “spiritual warfare.” We are not fighting demons in a face-to-face confrontation, or by spirit-to-spirit conversation, or with voice-to-voice communication. We attack them by tearing down their fortresses of lies… What, precisely, are our weapons? The only power that will destroy such things is the power of truth…“the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Eph. 6:17).
John MacArthur, The Book on Leadership, 2004, p. 140- 141.

Jésus nous a enseigné comment prier
Karl Graustein, Growing Up Christian, 2005, p. 208.
Jesus taught us how to pray (Matthew 6:9-13), told us to always pray and not give up (Luke 18:1-8), encourages us to ask, seek, and knock (Matthew 7:7-11), got up early to pray (Mark 1:35), modeled how to pray (John 17:1-26), and in the Garden of Gethsemane prayed in preparation for His arrest and death (Mark 14:32-42). Jesus modeled prayer and expected His followers to pray.

Le résultat d'une compréhension exacte
Voddie Baucham, What He Must Be, 2009, page 80.
True repentance is the result of an accurate understanding of the significance and gravity of sin, coupled with an overwhelming desire for the remission of that sin through the person and work of Christ and turning from sin and dead works to faith and obedience.

Le ciel est-il votre maison ?
Kevin DeYoung, The Hole in Our Holiness, 2012, p. 14.
No matter what you profess, if you show disregard for Christ by giving yourself over to sin – impenitently and habitually – then heaven is not your home.
Kevin DeYoung, The Hole in Our Holiness, 2012, p. 14.

Les dons de la grâce
Curtis Thomas, Life in the Body of Christ, Founders Press, 2006, p. 174.
Trying to put many biblical concepts together, I would define a gift as a combination of personal desire, natural propensities and learned abilities. Obviously, all of this must be given to us by the grace of God, hence a gift. And for that reason they are often spoken of as “grace-gifts.”
Curtis Thomas, Life in the Body of Christ, Founders Press, 2006, p. 174.

Certitude
Gerd Ludemann (1946-2021), historien biblique
It may be taken as historically certain that Peter and the disciples had experiences after Jesus’s death in which Jesus appeared to them as the risen Christ.

Message risible ?
Greg Gilbert, Don't Call it a Comeback, édité par Kevin DeYoung, 2011, page 72.
Paul’s matter-of-fact acknowledgment, born of twenty years of first-hand experience, that the message he was preaching – that salvation as to be had through a crucified God – was considered by everyone to be either deeply obscene or totally, completely, tin-foil-hat ridiculous.
Greg Gilbert, Don’t Call it a Comeback, edited by Kevin DeYoung, 2011, page 72.

Un Dieu bienveillant
David Platt, Counter Culture, 2015, page 160.
Whenever God gives us a negative command, He always gives two positives to us; He is providing us with something better while also protecting us from something worse.

Se confesser
Edward Welch, Addictions - A Banquet in the Grave, 2001, p. 198.
Most of us have had sins that we would easily confess to God, yet would be ashamed to confess to another brother or sister. Does this make sense? After all, God is the Holy One. To be exposed in His presence should be much more difficult than being exposed before sinners like ourselves. People who truly confess to God are less concerned that others learn their secret. If we easily confess to God something that shames us to confess to a friend, we are thinking too highly of the opinions of people and not highly enough about the holiness of God.
Edward Welch, Addictions – A Banquet in the Grave, 2001, p. 198.

Scott Hafemann, This We Believe, Zondervan, 2000, p. 97.
Salvation in its full sense is from the guilt of sin in the past, the power of sin in the present, and the presence of sin in the future.
Scott Hafemann, This We Believe, Zondervan, 2000, p. 97.

John Piper, Rethinking Retirement : Finishing Life for the Glory of Christ, Crossway Books, 2008.
Finishing life to the glory of Christ means resolutely resisting the typical American dream of retirement. It means being so satisfied with all that God promises to be for us in Christ that we are set free from the cravings that create so much emptiness and uselessness in retirement. Instead, knowing that we have an infinitely satisfying and everlasting inheritance in God just over the horizon of life makes us zealous in our few remaining years here to spend ourselves in the sacrifices of love, not the accumulation of comforts.
John Piper, Rethinking Retirement: Finishing Life for the Glory of Christ, Crossway Books, 2008.

La sagesse
Tim Challies, The Discipline of Spiritual, 2007, page 56.
Wisdom allows us to pursue what is good in life, not as judged by our standards but as judged by the Creator. Wisdom allows us to see what is important to God, what values He gives us for our benefit, and it allows Him to teach us how we can pursue them. Wisdom allows us to rightly use knowledge; it allows us to be discerning. Said otherwise, wisdom is knowledge rightly understood.
Tim Challies, The Discipline of Spiritual, 2007, page 56.

John Piper, Pourquoi j'aime l'apôtre Paul, 2019, page 162.
Bored boasting in Christ and sad exultation in Christ are oxymorons. The enjoyment is essential to making much of Christ.
John Piper, Why I Love the Apostle Paul, 2019, page 162.

Le temps des confrontations
Paul David Tripp, Dangerous Calling, 2012, Crossway Books, p. 178.
Why do any of us get upset or tense when confronted? Why do any of us activate our inner lawyer and rise to our own defense? Why do any of us turn the tables and remind the other person that we are not the only sinner in the room? Why do we argue about the facts or dispute the other person’s interpretation. We do all of these things because we are convinced in our hearts that we are more righteous that how than we are being portrayed in the moment of confrontation. Proud people don’t welcome loving warning, rebuke, confrontation, question, criticism, or accountability, because they don’t feel the need for it. And when they do fail, they are very good at erecting plausible reasons for what they said or did, given the stress of the situation or relationship in which it was done.
Paul David Tripp, Dangerous Calling, 2012, Crossway Books, p. 178.

Tim Keller, Hope in Times of Fear : The Resurrection and the Meaning of Easter, Viking, 2021, p. 80
The founders of the other great world religions died peacefully, surrounded by their followers and the knowledge that their movement was growing. In contrast, Jesus died in disgrace, betrayed, denied, and abandoned by everyone, even his Father. Other world religions teach salvation through ascent to God through good works, moral virtue, ritual observances, and transformation of consciousness. In contrast, Christianity is about salvation through God’s descending to us. This is the great difference between Christianity and every other philosophical and religious system.
Tim Keller, Hope in Times of Fear: The Resurrection and the Meaning of Easter, Viking, 2021, p. 80
