David Powlison, Seeing With New Eyes, 2003, p. 214.
The Bible teaches us that our “feel likes” are frequently desires of the flesh. Most of our “felt needs” are idolatrous desires. They are meant to be killed by the Spirit, not indulged. Such is the way of life, freedom, wisdom, and joy in Christ.
David Powlison, Seeing With New Eyes, 2003, p. 214.

Un grand message à connaître
Mark Dever, Nine Marks of a Healthy Church, Crossway, 2000, p. 75.
By His death on the Cross, Christ has become the Lamb that was slain for us, our Redeemer, the One who has made peace between us and God, who has taken our guilt on Himself, who has conquered our most deadly enemy and has assuaged the well-deserved wrath of God.
Mark Dever, Nine Marks of a Healthy Church, Crossway, 2000, p. 75.

Le problème est la condition de l'auditeur
John MacArthur, 2 Corinthiens, Moody Publishers, 2003, p. 131.
The issue is not the skill of the one proclaiming the message, the pa
ckaging of the message, or the technique used in proclaiming it. The issue is the condition of the hearer. Jesus illustrated that principle in the parable of the sower. The same message (the seed) is proclaimed by the same individual (the sower); the only variable is the condition of the four soils. What is essential for the messengers of the gospel is not cleverness but clarity. Only God can open the sin-blinded eyes of those who are “dead in [their] trespasses and sins” (Eph. 2:1; cf. v. 5; Matt. 8:22; Eph. 4:18).
John MacArthur, 2 Corinthians, Moody Publishers, 2003, p. 131.

L'unité
Eddie Rasnake, The Book of Ephesians, AMG Publishers, 2003, p. 93-94.
It is not our job to “produce” unity. Unity is “of the Spirit” (Ephesians 4:3). Unity is automatic when the Spirit is in control of everyone’s lives. Our job is to “preserve” the unity of the Spirit – to do nothing to disrupt the unity He is producing… We must take care of our relationships and be quick to clean up our offenses. We must make right our wrongs so that the unity of the Spirit is not disrupted.
Eddie Rasnake, The Book of Ephesians, AMG Publishers, 2003, p. 93-94.

L'apitoiement sur soi
John Younts, Everyday Talk, Talking Freely and Naturally about God with Your Children, Shepherd Press, 2004, p. 140.
Self-pity is a powerful, negative attitude that gives rise to many, many excuses for sin. People fall into Satan’s trap of giving themselves “permission” to sin to compensate for the difficulties and trials they’ve had to bear. Self-pity is a direct rejection of God’s control. It is saying, “I don’t like what you’ve done in my life, and I absolutely will not be content! I can’t change it, so I’ll just be angry and miserable.”
John Younts, Everyday Talk, Talking Freely and Naturally about God with Your Children, Shepherd Press, 2004, p. 140.

Tullian Tchividjian
“ What I'm most deeply grateful for is that God's love for us, approval of us, and commitment to us does not ride on our resolve but on Jesus’ resolve for us.
The gospel is the good news announcing Jesus’ infallible devotion to us despite our inconsistent devotion to him.
The gospel is not a command to hang on to Jesus; it's a promise that no matter how weak and unsuccessful our faith and efforts may be, God is always holding onto us.”

La sanctification progressive
Jerry Bridges, Transforming Grace, NavPress, 1991, p. 115.
Progressive sanctification very much involves our activity. But it is an activity that must be carried out in dependence on the Holy Spirit. It is not a partnership with the Spirit in the sense that we each – the believer and the Holy Spirit – do our respective tasks. Rather, we work as He enables us to work. His work lies behind all our work and makes our work possible… He is not dependent on us to do His work. But we are dependent on Him to do our work; we cannot do anything apart from Him.
Jerry Bridges, Transforming Grace, NavPress, 1991, p. 115.

Rusé
Philip Graham Ryken, When You Pray par Philip Graham Ryken, 2000, p. 163.
The devil’s cleverest ruse is to make men believe that he does not exist. Or to give us the false impression that he is a silly old character in a red suit with little horns and a forked tail. Or to convince us that his devilish powers are so overwhelming that we are helpless to resist.
Philip Graham Ryken, When You Pray by Philip Graham Ryken, 2000, p. 163.
