When you live to please yourself, circumstances that God designs to teach you to trust and obey Him instead become temptations for you to fear and worry.

Le service durable
Bryan Chapell, Holiness by Grace, 2001, page 193.
Lasting service comes when we serve God from His acceptance, not for His acceptance.

Bob Kauflin, Worship Matters, Crossway Books, 2008, p. 58.

Pourquoi la discipline est-elle importante ?
John MacArthur, The Book on Leadership, 2004, p. 153.
Why is discipline important? Discipline teaches us to operate by principle rather than desire. Saying no to our impulses (even the ones that are not inherently sinful) puts us in control of our appetites rather than vice versa. It deposes our lust and permits truth, virtue, and integrity to rule our minds instead.
John MacArthur, The Book on Leadership, 2004, p. 153.

Le christianisme
Philip Graham Ryken, Is Jesus the Only Way ? Crossway, 1999, p. 36-37.
On the one hand, Christianity is the most exclusive religion imaginable. It insists that belief in Jesus Christ is absolutely necessary for salvation. Jesus is the only way. You must go to Him to get eternal life. On the other hand, Christianity is the most inclusive religion possible because it makes salvation accessible to everyone. Salvation is offered for all people through one Person. Whoever believes in Him will not perish. Anyone who receives or believes in Jesus will live forever with God. There are no racial, social, intellectual, or economic criteria that prevent anyone from joining God’s family. One of the problems with the other religions of the world is that they all smack of elitism… Only Christianity offers salvation to everyone as a free gift.
Philip Graham Ryken, Is Jesus the Only Way? Crossway, 1999, p. 36-37.

John MacArthur, The Battle for the Beginning, 2001, p. 21.
If the Lord wanted to teach us that creation took place in six literal days, how could He have stated it more plainly than Genesis does? The length of the days is defined by periods of day and night that are governed after day four by the sun and moon. The week itself defines the pattern of human labor and rest. The days are marked by the passage of morning and evening. How could these not signify the chronological progression of God’s creative work?
John MacArthur, The Battle for the Beginning, 2001, p. 21.

Douglas Moo, Jacques, Eerdmans, 2000, p. 195.
The biblical writers…suggest that all persons will inevitably “mourn” for their spiritual state. They can wait to mourn until it is too late, when God has brought His judgment on the earth. Or they can mourn now, turning sorrowfully from their sin so that they will have no occasion to mourn when the Lord returns.
Douglas Moo, James, Eerdmans, 2000, p. 195.

Ajith Fernando, The Supremacy of Christ, 1995, p. 210.
But why doesn’t God immediately take away evil from the face of this earth? Evil is too integral a part of humanity and nature for Him to do that. [God] cannot destroy evil without at the same time destroying humanity.
Ajith Fernando, The Supremacy of Christ, 1995, p. 210.

Une maturité de foi
Jim Cymbala
I have since learned that the most mature believer is the one who is bent over, leaning most heavily on the Lord, and admitting his total inability to do anything without Christ.

Une vraie relation
David Platt, Follow Me de David Platt, 2013, page 57.
Jesus did not come so that we might live a life of superficial religion. He came so that we might receive new life through supernatural regeneration.

Aimer
Paul David Tripp, Dangerous Calling, 2012, p. 23-24.
You are most loving patient, kind and gracious when you are aware that there is no truth that you could give to another that you don’t desperately need yourself. You are most humble and gentle when you think that the person you are ministering to is more like you than unlike you. When you have inserted yourself into another category that tends to make you think you have arrived, it is very easy to be judgmental and impatient.
Paul David Tripp, Dangerous Calling, 2012, p. 23-24.

J. Budziszewski, How to Stay Christian in College, 2004, p.38.
Where does [evil] come from, then? The only way to get a bad thing is to take a good thing and spoil it. For example, darkness isn’t made up from nothing; you get it by blocking the light. Disease isn’t made up from nothing; you get it by ruining health. Notice that this doesn’t work the other way around – you can’t get light by blocking darkness or health by ruining disease. So God created only good things, but some of them have been spoiled.
J. Budziszewski, How to Stay Christian in College, 2004, p.38.

Transcendance means that God is greater than and independent of the creation. Immensity refers to the fact that God transcends and fills all space. And omnipresence indicates that God is present with every point of space in His entire being.
