La justice ne vient jamais par la foi en soi, mais par la foi en Dieu.

Martyn Lloyd-Jones, What is an Evangelical?, 1992, p. 30.
The church is always to be under the Word; she must be; we must keep her there. You must not assume that because the church started correctly, she will continue so. She did not do so in the New Testament times; she has not done so since. Without being constantly reformed by the Word the church becomes something very different. We must always keep the church under the Word.
Martyn Lloyd-Jones, What is an Evangelical?, 1992, p. 30.
John Piper, Brothers, We Are Not Professionals, Bethlehem Baptist Church, 2002, p. 239.
Nothing makes God more supreme and more central than when a people are utterly persuaded that nothing – not money or prestige or leisure or family or job or health or sports or toys or friends – is going to bring satisfaction to their aching hearts besides God. This conviction breeds a people who passionately long for God on Sunday morning. They are not confused about why they are here. They do not see songs and prayers and sermons as mere traditions or mere duties. They see them as means of getting to God or God getting to them for more of His fullness.
John Piper, Brothers, We Are Not Professionals, Bethlehem Baptist Church, 2002, p. 239.
Having convictions can be defined as being so thoroughly convinced that Christ and His Word are both objectively true and relationally meaningful that you act on your beliefs regardless of the consequences.
Josh McDowell and Bob Hostelter
John MacArthur et Richard Mayhue, Doctrine biblique, 2017, page 70.
In Scripture, the person of God and the Word of God are everywhere interrelated, so much so that whatever is true about the character of God is true about the nature of God’s Word… What a person thinks about God’s Word in reality reflects what a person thinks about God.

Rod Rogers, Pastor Driven Stewardship : 10 Steps to Lead Your Church to Biblical Giving, 2006, p. 205.
You will always spend your money on what is most important to you… If your giving to the church of Jesus Christ is poor, it is a clear sign that you’re not excited about the things that God takes delight in. And, if you truly do take delight in the growth and success of Christ’s church, put your money where your heart is.

Iain Duguid, Living in the Gap Between Promise and Reality, 1999, p. 36.
Satan has been a liar from the beginning. His constant goal is to get believers to turn their backs on the promises of God and pursue apparently rosier dreams.

Dan Stone, The Rest of the Gospel, One Press, 2000, Préface.
God’s plan was to bring into being a host of sons and daughters whom He would indwell; through whom He would live and manifest Himself; and in and through whom Christ would reign supreme. We are the beneficiaries of that plan. God, in His love and grace, has made us a part of His plan. But we are not the center of it; Christ is.
Dan Stone, The Rest of the Gospel, One Press, 2000, Preface.
William Farley, Gospel-Powered Parenting, 2009, p. 94.
The cross confirms all that we have said about the infinite offense of sin. It says that no finite sacrifice can atone for sin (Heb. 10:4). Nothing but a sacrifice of infinite value, God Himself, can atone for our offenses. In addition, no one but an infinite Being is capable of suffering sufficiently to atone for infinite offenses against an infinitely holy God.
William Farley, Gospel-Powered Parenting, 2009, p. 94.
George Sweeting, Who Said That? Moody Press, 1995, p. 69.
The very same Holy Spirit who led these men to write, longs to lead us today so we can understand. Without the Holy Spirit, the Bible is like an ocean which cannot be sounded, heavens which cannot be surveyed, mines which cannot be explored, and mysteries beyond unraveling. We must – we must – yield to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
George Sweeting, Who Said That? Moody Press, 1995, p. 69.
Melvin Tinker, Wisdom to Live By, Christian Focus Publications, 1998, p. 96- 97.
Wisdom is all a matter of viewing the world God’s way, with God’s revelation providing the necessary framework which alone makes sense of life, giving it some sort of coherence and direction. This is sometimes called a worldview, a kind of moral map with the main points located so we can steer our way through life to maximum benefit. Accordingly, whatever it is that is to be studied, whether science, history, or home economics, all of these things can be placed within a Christian framework, in terms of the Creator-Redeeming God, and where they can be made sense of.

There is a certain kind of maturity that can be attained only through the discipline of suffering.

John Napier, Charismatic Challenge, 2003, p. 112.
From the Garden of Eden, to the experience of Job, to the temptation of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the present day, Satan has tried to move man away from submission to the authority of God and His Word. If he cannot do it through direct enticement or challenge, he will attempt to do it through all manner of subtlety and deception. That is why one must be careful not to embrace new revelations that come through any avenue: impressions, intuition, visions, dreams, tongues, or prophecy. As noted previously, such undermine both the authority and sufficiency of Scripture.
John Napier, Charismatic Challenge, 2003, p. 112.
John White
There are no shortcuts to holiness. There is no easy way to conquer the flesh. Christian character is a matter of growth, not of secrets or formulas. Growth takes time. It also takes the discipline of prayer, of study, of heart searching, of sensitivity to the Holy Spirit's pleading, and of consistent obedience. It must always begin with a renewed thankfulness for the never-ending grace of God, and a sense of being set free repeatedly to a life of holiness.
John White
