Notre planification financière
3. Cela aidera-t-il ou entravera-t-il ma croissance spirituelle (1 Corinthiens 6:12) ?
4. Est-ce que cela m'endette (Proverbes 22:7) ?
5. Est-ce un bon investissement (Proverbes 20:14) ?
6. Est-il utile à ma famille (1 Timothée 5:8) ?
7. Pourquoi est-ce que je le veux (1 Timothée 6:9) ?
8. En ai-je vraiment besoin ?
Rod Rogers, Pastor Driven Stewardship : 10 Steps to Lead Your Church to Biblical Giving par Rod Rogers, 2006, p. 196.
One way to be diligent in your financial planning is to evaluate all spending decisions by asking the following Scriptural questions:
1. Do I have any doubt about purchasing the item (Rom. 14:23)?
2. Have I given God an opportunity to supply it (Psm. 37:4; Pr. 10:3)?
3. Will it aid or hinder my spiritual growth (1 Cor. 6:12)?
4. Does it put me in debt (Pr. 22:7)?
5. Is it a good investment (Pr. 20:14)?
6. Is it meaningful for my family (1 Tim. 5:8)?
7. Why do I want it (1 Tim. 6:9)?
8. Do I really need it?

David Plat, Follow me, 2013, page 62.
The Good News of Christ is not primarily that Jesus will heal you of all your sicknesses right now, but ultimately that Jesus will forgive you of all your sins forever. The Good News of Christ is not that if you muster enough faith in Jesus, you can have physical and material reward on this earth. The Good News of Christ is that when you have childlike faith in Jesus, you will be reconciled to God for eternity.

Dieu aurait dû me tuer sur-le-champ.
David Powlison, Seeing With New Eyes, 2003, p. 167.
[God’s love] is at God’s initiative and choice; it isn’t given out on the basis of my performance. God’s gospel love is not wages that I earn with a model life; it is a gift. It is a gift that I cannot earn; more than that, it is a gift that I do not even deserve. God loves weak, ungodly, sinful enemies. The gift is the opposite of what I deserve. God ought to kill me on the spot. Instead, He sent His Son to die in my place.
David Powlison, Seeing With New Eyes, 2003, p. 167.

Pourquoi prêcher à partir de l'Ancien Testament ?
Sidney Greidanus, Preaching Christ from the Old Testament, Eerdmans, 1999, p. 25.
There are many reasons why pastors must preach from the Old Testament:
1. The Old Testament is part of the Christian canon.
2. It discloses the history of redemption leading to Christ.
3. It proclaims truths not found in the New Testament.
4. It helps us understand the New Testament.
5. It prevents misunderstanding of the New Testament.
6. It provides a fuller understanding of Christ.

Le péché est un problème moral
Paul David Tripp, Dangerous Calling, 2012, p. 26.
Sin is a moral problem. It is about my rebellion against God and my quest to have for myself the glory that is due Him. Sin is not first about the breaking of an abstract set of rules. Sin is first and foremost about breaking relationship with God, and because I have broken this relationship, it is then easy and natural to rebel against God’s rules.
Paul David Tripp, Dangerous Calling, 2012, p. 26.

John MacArthur, Second Corinthians, Moody, 2003, p. 284.
The supreme act of worship is not giving money, attending church or singing hymns, but giving oneself (Romans 12:1-2). As a “holy priesthood,” believers are “to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 2:5), the most important of which is themselves. Only when it is from a devout life, given to Christ wholly, does financial giving become an acceptable act of worship.
John MacArthur, Second Corinthians, Moody, 2003, p. 284.
