Tout est prévu ?

Que toutes les actions pécheresses relèvent du décret divin. Bien que le péché lui-même découle de la transgression de la loi, son avenir découle du décret de Dieu. Aucune chose de ce genre n'aurait jamais pu exister dans le monde, si elle n'avait été déterminée par le conseil éternel du Ciel pour une fin sainte et juste. C'est ce qu'affirme clairement l'apôtre Pierre, à propos de la plus grande infamie qui ait jamais été commise sur la terre, à savoir la mort et les souffrances du Seigneur Jésus-Christ, aux mains d'hommes pécheurs (Actes 2:23 ; 4:27-28)... Il n'y a jamais eu de crime aussi atroce ou d'acte de méchanceté aussi élevé que le meurtre du Seigneur de gloire. Et pourtant, il ressort de ces textes de la Bible que, dans cette scène sanglante et horrible, les hommes méchants n'ont fait que ce que la main et le conseil de Dieu avaient décidé de faire auparavant.

That all sinful actions fall under the divine decree. Though sin itself flows from transgressing the law, yet the futurition of it is from the decree of God. No such thing could ever have been in the world, if it had not been determined by the eternal counsel of Heaven for a holy and just end. This is plainly asserted by the apostle Peter, with respect to the greatest villainy that was ever committed on the earth, namely, the death and sufferings of the Lord Jesus Christ, at the hands of sinful men (Ac. 2:23; 4:27-28)… There was never such an atrocious crime or higher act of wickedness committed, than the murdering of the Lord of glory. And yet it appears from these texts of Scripture, that, in this bloody and horrid scene, wicked men did no more than God’s hand and counsel determined before to be done.
