Oswald Chambers
God can achieve His purpose either through the absence of human power and resources, or abandonment of reliance on them. All through history God has chosen and used nobodies, because their unusual dependence on Him made possible the unique display of His power and grace. He chose and used somebodies only when they renounced dependence on their natural abilities and resources.
Oswald Chambers
Henry Smith
Holy men have kept the sessions at home, and made their hearts the foremen of the jury, and examined themselves as we examine others. The fear of the Lord stood at the door of their souls, to examine every thought before it went in, and at the door of their lips, to examine every word before it went out, whereby they escaped a thousand sins which we commit, as though we had no other work.
Henry Smith

[In heaven] the crucifixion, an obvious result of evil and injustice, will not have been passed over and overcome; it will actually be featured – an object of eternal wonder and devotion.

John MacArthur
God forgave sinners before Christ died. God forgives sinners since Christ died. But God forgives all sinners because Christ died.
John MacArthur
David Platt
We don’t have to ask what the will of God is; he has made it clear. He wants his people to provide for the poor, to value the unborn, to care for orphans and widows, to rescue people from slavery, to defend marriage, to war against sexual immorality in all its forms in every area of our lives, to love our neighbors as ourselves regardless of their ethnicity, to practice faith regardless of the risk, and to proclaim the gospel to all nations. Of these things we are sure.
David Platt

Scripture is like a working museum of which the Spirit is the Curator, showing us around and explaining the wonders of the mind of the Maker. In this museum we are taken behind the scenes to learn from God Himself. In growing to know God, therefore, there is no substitute for the discipline of Bible study and Scripture reading and meditation. We cannot bypass the handbook God has given to us and then expect that we can know Him in our own way. The only god we can know in our own way is a god that we make in our own image.

Nul endroit ne me cache, tu retrouves ma trace,
Partout tu me vois.
Seigneur, quand je m’assieds, quand je me lève,
Ta main m’accompagne et me conduit.
Derrière et devant, j’ai ton Esprit,
Jamais tu ne dors !
Avant mon premier jour, tu me voyais,
Chacun de mes jours, tu les connais,
Et quoi qu’il arrive, je sais, tu es là,
Jamais tu ne dors !
Éternel Dieu, tu m’environnes,
Autour de moi, toujours présent.
À mes côtés, Éternel Dieu !
Jamais ton amour ne dort ! »
Jan Groth (d’après le Psaume 139)
G. Campbell Morgan
The supreme thing is worship. The attitude of worship is the attitude of a subject bent before the King. The fundamental thought is that of prostration, of bowing down.
G. Campbell Morgan
Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Hope is a gift of the Spirit. It is a hope that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the power of His Resurrection, we shall be raised unto life eternal and this because of our faith in the Savior.

Christianity is not a white man’s religion. And don’t ever let anybody tell you that it’s white or black. Christ belongs to all people! He belongs to the whole world!
Billy Graham -JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA, BILLY GRAHAM CRUSADE, 1973
Scott Hafemann, The God of Promise and the Life of Faith
The difficulty of the commands is merely a reflection of the greatness of the Gospel. Jesus' expectation is built on his anticipation of what God will do in the lives of His people! Jesus demands the humanly impossible precisely because His provisions are supernatural. The magnitude of Jesus' commands must mean, therefore, that they are tied to the grandest promise of all, namely, the promise that God himself will work in every circumstance to conform us to the image of Christ (Romans 8:28-29).
