Dieu lui-même est l'exemple suprême de longanimité. Lorsque nous sommes tentés d'être impatients avec les autres, nous devrions nous arrêter et penser à la longanimité de Dieu à notre égard et à nos nombreuses fautes à son égard. À la lumière de sa patience envers nous, qui sommes-nous pour penser que nous ne pouvons pas supporter patiemment les faiblesses et les échecs des autres - ou les torts qu'ils ont pu nous faire ?

God Himself is the supreme example of longsuffering. When we are tempted to be impatient with others, we should stop and think about the gracious longsuffering of God with us and our many wrongs against Him. In light of His patience toward us, who are we to think that we cannot patiently bear with the weaknesses and failures of others – or the wrongs they may have done to us?
