Avant et après

Mais j'ai observé que, bien que j'aie été un si grand pécheur avant ma conversion, Dieu ne m'a jamais fait porter le lourd fardeau de la culpabilité des péchés commis pendant que j'étais dans l'ignorance. Il m'a seulement montré que j'étais perdu si je n'avais pas le Christ parce que j'avais été pécheur. J'ai vu que j'avais besoin d'une Justice parfaite pour me présenter sans faute devant Dieu, et cette Justice ne se trouvait nulle part ailleurs qu'en la personne de Jésus-Christ.

But I observed that, although I was such a great sinner before conversion, God never burdened me heavily with the guilt of sins committed while I was in ignorance. He only showed me that I was lost if I did not have Christ because I had been a sinner. I saw that I needed a perfect righteousness to present me without fault before God, and this righteousness was nowhere to be found but in the person of Jesus Christ.
